Hi Ian,
Thanks for your message on my Blog. I started getting interested in photography when Maia was born about 2 years ago. Decided to take it to another level 2 weeks ago. Still have no idea how my camera works (except on automatic) but I'm sure we'll get to that soon on the course, lol. I'm def. hooked
:-)
You've got some stunning scenery where you live, I can easily see why you are drawn to photographing landscapes. The photos are beautiful. I especially like the green shed by the lake... something about it draws me in. The colours are fantastic.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for checking in guys.

Minna, I went on a one day course last year and it was like somebody 'switching the light on' and ever since I have only ever used my camera (Nikon D70) in fully manual mode or apeture priority...you'll be amazed once you get your head round the basics why you ever used auto....

Steve, I'm sure I can see Crown Heights in the distance:-)

Hi Ian,
That's great to hear.
At the moment the course is a bit full-on with learning about how the inside of a camera is put together etc. I just can't wait to learn how the different settings work so I can play around in manual mode. Encouraging to hear that it makes such a big difference.
Yesterday I brought along my camera to a 2-year-old's birthday party. Blimey, what a challenge that was! Taking photos of one toddler is difficult enough, but when there's 10 of them and their faces are covered in cupcake and they are all on a sugar-high....!!! phew! Also, still not sure about how to get best light inside... and since I don't know the different settings yet, it was a bit difficult (there are some photos on my blog... www.minnaburgess.blogspot.com)
Back to the course tonight :-)
Happy shooting...

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your message. Well, I've finally moved on to manual mode :-) exciting stuff! lol :-)
I'm still reeeeeally confused, but today I just threw myself into it (see new photos on blog). Sounds like you had a very creative and fun instructor. I'm hoping that the guy teaching me is just taking his time with all the bits and pieces because it's a longer course. Would love to see it all come together soon. Next class is on lighting, and hopefully I can get some of my million questions answered too!

This is beautiful. My ancestors probably took that same walk. Shame on me for never visiting Scotland!
